Cefalu is a beautiful
Sicilian beachside town with history recorded since ancient times. The Greeks,
Romans, Arabs, and Normans have all left their mark upon this city. The
architecture, the cuisine and the human DNA all tell a story.
The allure of Cefalu spans
the ages.
Well this night, we simply
wanted to enjoy
a happy
hour and the peacefulness that this lovely area exudes.

Just a short walk from
our
apartment is this bar, cafe, and restaurant serving delicious options at
local prices.
Looking at the above menu, you can see
linguine with shrimp and zucchini for only $8Euros, under $9USD.

Popular with the locals, we almost never saw
a foreigner here.
Perfect.
We enjoy the neighborhood establishments and
getting to know the people who actually live in an area.
Graciella, our waitress
This is Graciella, who waited on us several
times. She really enjoyed her job, had a smile ready for everyone and was eager
to please.
White wine and munchies
The first night we found L'elite, we asked
Graciella for some "tris" along
with our
wine. In other locations in Italy and Sicily, the word "tris" meant three
little snacks to munch on while
sipping one's wine.
Apparently, this word hasn't made it yet to
Cefalu. But once she understood the idea, she gathered up some chips and peanuts
and presented them to us each time we had
happy hour there.
Spaghetti and shrimp in pomodoro sauce
with zucchini
This late afternoon Billy and I shared a
plate of Spaghetti with zucchini and shrimp in fresh tomato sauce.
It was plenty to eat for two people and of
course, was delicious.

Would we recommend L'elite?
Yes, we would!
Whether it's a
pastry
and coffee, a dish of local cuisine or a happy hour, you are sure to find
something to enjoy while you people-watch and absorb the history and balmy
