There’s a certain kind of
magic you only find at places like this, a tiny beach bar, a few chairs in the
sand, the ocean close enough to touch, and a sky that can’t decide what mood
it’s in.
This is the kind of spot
where time moves slower. Where you sit, sip something cold, and let the breeze
do the talking. Where strangers feel like friends and every sunset feels like
its own blessing.
It's just a 3-5 minute beach
walk from
our
Villa in
The
Hamilton Beach Villas and Spa, that you'll find this gem-of-a beach bar.
This laid-back beachfront
eatery holds its own in every category: Beach bites, main meals, cocktails, cold
beer, stunning sunsets, picnic tables on the sand, and good service.
Even though it's located
within the Nelson Spring Resort, anyone can stroll up and have a brew, cocktail
or a meal.
Sunsets here are legendary, often described as the best on the island, with St.
Kitts silhouetted across the water.
Take a look!

Nelson Spring Beach Resort
This is the entrance view
from the main road around the island, with the Nevis volcano looming in the
background.
This resort is a
condo-style complex located in Cotton Ground, with the famous 3-mile stretch of
Pinney's Beach just on the other side of these buildings.

A directional sign to
the Barefoot Beach Bar
If you are
coming from Charlestown, it's only a 10-15 minutes drive by car, or if you
want to walk from
Sunshine's Beach Bar (another popular eatery), it's about a 20-minute walk.

View of the Caribbean Sea
The sister island of St.
Kitts is just to the right, outside this photo.
The Barefoot Beach Bar used
to be just a snack bar located here on the sand, but by early 2018 it became a "fer-real"
restaurant.
Hurricane Irma smashed all
through here in 2017, and a concerted effort for recovery of this area coincided
with a broader plan for Nevis Tourism. This turned the spot into a "hidden gem" for sunset cocktails and
fresh lobster rolls.

Barefoot sign humor
Word-of-mouth and Tripadvisor reviews helped
this little place to gain traction.
Friendly staff and value-driven meals (~US$15–30)
made it a go-to alternative to nearby spots like the
Yachtsman Grill.

Seating at the bar
Barefoot is
not a flashy chain but a community hub and is considered to be the ultimate in
Nevis chill.
Think toes-in-the-sand dining under palm
trees, open-air seating in the restaurant with gentle waves lapping nearby.
Pinney's Beach is ranked among the world's best
and this area draws celebs and locals alike.

Sushi and Bento Box menu with pricing in
EC
Barefoot Bar offers a fusion of Pan-Asian and Caribbean flavors, emphasizing
fresh, local ingredients and tropical twists.
Portions are generous, and pricing emphasizes
value.
It's a family-friendly place with a relaxed,
unfussy energy.

Casual and Main menu
The above menu offers selections not
available at other eating establishments on the island. - At least not all in
one place.
Thai green curry or a lobster roll, or
Teriyaki beef... Bong Bong Shrimp?
Very exotic and inviting.

Drink menu
There's something for everyone here.
If you ask, you might be able to get the
local Nevis Peak Brewery beers here on tap.
Check it out for sure when you visit.

Crispy calamari
One of Billy's favorite appetizers is crispy
calamari, and we've eaten it all over the world - from
Thailand to
Sicily.
Done properly, the calamari rings are tender
and the outside breading is crunchy-crispy!
These were excellent!

Wok tossed Salmon
These little morsels were delicious.
The salmon was juicy and tender on the
inside, with a hint of crisp on the outside.
A tiny bit of sweet red chili sauce and diced
green onion on top.
This appetizer is a must-try.

Dynamite Chicken
These were chicken bits
with a spicy sauce drizzled over them.
These 3 appetizers were
plenty of food for the two of us, and we were happy to try a new restaurant so
close to home.

Our bill for 2
Pricing is in EC, a clear sign that this
place isn't too touristy.
Would we recommend this beach bar?
Absolutely!
