PandeBono Cafe Cartagena, Colombia
As you know, we enjoy coffee
and coffee houses. In Cartagena, we quickly found this corner cafe that
served up various coffee drinks, fresh juice smoothies and sweet and
savory pastries. |

Mila
Postres Cartagena, Colombia
One of the great things today
about world travelers and the internet combined, is that it's easy to
find restaurants, cafes, markets, rooftop bars, and various places for
sight-seeing. All one has to do is put your parameters in the search box
and voila! You'll have the place on a map, the address and hours of
operation, and even perhaps a menu. Mila Postres was advertised as a
very popular breakfast place with pastries to die for. Ok. We're in!

Tantalizing Taffy, Banos, Ecuador
Who would have known? These taffy
bars for sale in Banos start from cutting down sugar cane, and boiling
the juice until it becomes a hardened panela. These blocks are sold as
is, but to make taffy, it must be boiled again and stretched... and
stretched! |

Bakery La Parisienne de Paris Paris, France
Billy and I were wandering around in the Latin
Quarter of Paris one windy day, when we stumbled upon this
award-winning bakery. The young and ambitious owner, Mickael
Reydellet, was born in Normandy, where dairy products are known
for their quality. At the age of 22, he became manager of his
first bakery, and three years later, he created La Parisienne.
This bakery won the prestigious award of Prix de la Meilleure
Baguette Tradition de Paris in 2016. |
