On the St.

Our short stay in
St. Barth
was ending.
We ate at
interesting
restaurants, watched sunsets, and
swam on
a perfect beach but now it was time to
say goodbye and head on back to
Sint Maarten.
Checkout time at
our hotel
was 10am and our ferry was leaving at 11.
It was a beautiful morning,
and a short walk to meet the ferry.

Flags for France, Sweden, Spain, and
Germany, among others.
St. Barth is an
international destination and
Port of Gustavia has been an active port for
centuries.
On the hill you can see the
St. Barth light house.

Waiting for the ferry to arrive
There were light, balmy breezes as we took a
seat in the shade to wait for the ferry to arrive.
There weren't that many people this morning
making the trip to
Sint Maarten and the feeling was one of calm and ease.

The ferry arrives
Of course, there was the
usual stamping of our passports and handing the tickets to the people in charge.
But it was all very civilized and the Port Regulation People all followed
protocol as the ferry arrived.
Ropes were thrown down to
the woman on the shore, who tied the boat up, securing it so no one would be
jostled on their way up or down the plank.

Billy on the back of the ferry!
Our round trip tickets for the 45 minute ride
each way were $230USD for the both of us. We purchased them from
Great Bay
Express on
Sint Maarten before we left.
Fortunately, the ride back to Sint Maarten
was much calmer, which was a relief!
The ferry leaves several times a day, every
day of the week. So if you are in the islands, take advantage of the convenience
and good pricing to get from one island to the other by ferry!
You don't want to miss St. Barth.

independence, values their time, and who doesn’t
