Our Flight
from Guadalajara,
Mexico to Rome, Italy
Billy and Akaisha Kaderli
Currency Exchange
We had been trying to get
to Italy since spring of 2020, when Covid broke out and the traveling world came
to a standstill.
Well, fast forward to the
present, and now we were so excited to finally be on our way to take this long-awaited
trip. We found a round-trip direct flight for the both of us from
Guadalajara to Madrid with a connection to Rome for 52,494Pesos or about
$2,850USD.
Come join us on this
journey, pictured below.

Sign in GDL airport for our Madrid flight
Isn't it silly? But we were so excited to
just even SEE the sign for Madrid. It had been waaay too long since we had been
to Europe.

The festively decorated airplane of
AeroMexico
Here you see the wildly jubilant painted
exterior of the AeroMexico plane on the tarmac at Guadalajara, Mexico airport.
The morning was brilliant and we were getting
ready to board.

The digital map of our journey on our
individual TV monitors
One can follow the flight to Madrid on the
individual TV monitors installed into the backs of the seats in front of them.
This map shows where it was currently
daylight and currently night time in the world.
These personal monitors also allowed us to
watch a variety of movies, current and favorite TV programming, listen to
various music selections or play games.
It was a long flight (10
hours) and besides 2 meals, one could sleep or entertain themselves with the
diversions AeroMexico offered.

Photo from the air showing Italy's coast
We have made the connection to our Rome
flight from Madrid, now on AirEuropa, and we are nearing our destination.
Here you see the coast of
Italy from the plane's window.

Italy's rolling hills and lush landscape
Italy is amazingly fertile.
The beauty of its countryside is obvious.

Map of our journey through Italy
This map shows you our journey through Italy
and Italy's island of Sicily.
We stayed 47 nights with 9 "home bases" of
travel.

In the taxi, on our way to Anzio, Italy
Our hotel sent a driver to pick us up at the
Rome airport. He was transporting us
to our first stop, Anzio, Italy.
By now, it is the next day and we are a bit
jet lagged, but excited to get to our selected
historical beach town.

Our hotel in Anzio, Italy
This is our hotel in Anzio. Our room was on
the 1st floor and we had a terrific view
of the Tyrrhenian Sea from our balcony. We watched the
people parading about below, saw
Roman Emperor Nero's Beach, and
ate wonderful lunches.
Looking back, this was one of several
fabulous places we stayed.
