Dew
Drops Restaurant
Nevis, West Indies
Billy and Akaisha Kaderli
It's a home-style vibe, an
extension of a family-run kitchen that served fishermen, farmers and early
tourists to Nevis.
As tourism increased on the
island, this small, Mom and Pop eatery grew as well. Keeping true to their modest
roots, you are sure to get an authentic Nevisian meal without the upscale resort
pricing.
Offering an expansive view
to the sea and surrounded by gardens, Dew Drops Restaurant is a charming local
operation.
If you are looking for a
bona fide, off-the-beaten-path Nevisian dining experience, be sure to visit Dew
Drops Restaurant.

The front entrance to Dew Drops Restaurant
Our long-term friends who have lived on Nevis
"since the old days" offered to pick us up
at our Villa and take us here for lunch.
Open air and casual, this beautiful spot
captures the
laid-back island vibe of Nevis.

The view of the
sea from Dew Drops
From the dining room you
can look straight over the Ocean to
Nevis's sister Island, St. Kitts, only about
11 nautical miles across the narrows.
Located right at Cades Bay, a quiet coastal area on the
western side of
Nevis, it's only about 10-15 minutes' drive from the capitol city of Charlestown.
Another popular spot like Oualie Beach
is also nearby, but the feel here at Dew Drops is more local
and less touristy.

The Bar
Dew Drops specializes in classic Caribbean and American-style dishes, with an
emphasis on seafood, fried appetizers, and hearty mains. Portions are generous,
and most entrees come with a choice of rice or fries. Prices are
budget-friendly.
Visitors rave about cheese balls, salt fish, and fresh seafood
like conch - all simple dishes of Island home cooking.
You can order take out to
either pick up your meal ahead of time for a beach picnic or take it back to
your villa. Apparently, there is a delivery service called CaribEats which you
can use from your phone.

John, Juliette, Billy and Akaisha
Here you see John and Juliette whom we've
known since when we retired and
helped to open the Four Seasons Resort in 1991.
Dew Drops is not flashy like
Sunshine's Beach
Bar and is considered to be more of a "hidden gem".
It's affordable, unpretentious and involved
in the local community's daily life.
They call this
the full local immersion.

Dipping Conch Fritters
Conch fritters are famous throughout the
Caribbean islands.
Finely chopped fresh conch is mixed with
onions, garlic, Scotch Bonnet (think habanero blazing hot) peppers, lime juice,
thyme, salt and pepper. After letting the flavors marry, then the conch balls
are rolled in a seasoned flour and deep fried in coconut oil for a couple of
minutes each side.
Drained on a paper towel to absorb the extra
oil, the fritters are then dipped in a traditional Nevis tartar-style dipping
sauce.

White conch chowder
Conch chowder is a favorite of the islanders
and Dew Drops makes its own special blend.
Fresh conch, potatoes, clam juice, onions,
celery and a floating Scotch Bonnet pepper in the broth.
Surely there are "secret ingredients" that we
don't know about which gives this chowder its particular flavor.
It's a local favorite.

Looking out from the dining room onto the
gardens
Everything on Nevis is green, green, green.
Tropical flowers, bushes and trees give a
unique look to this garden in Paradise.
This was one of the views from the dining
room.

Our bill for the 4 of us (in EC pricing)
The total bill for the 4 of us came to about
$71USD.
Dew Drops may not be as polished as Nevis's luxury options (like those at Four Seasons or
Hermitage Plantation), but that's its charm.
It's the real deal. Genuine island eats
without the frills and in a garden setting with an ocean view. Can't beat that!
You could call it a hidden gem.

Poster advertising their hours and Friday
night Karaoke
Karaoke is a big deal. when you live on an
island and you wanna wail out a song, Karaoke fits the bill.
Nevis spots often shine through word-of-mouth,
and Dew Drops has a strong connection to the locals.
You, too, now know of a place where it's
authentic and pricing is affordable. Off the beaten path, decent food, a bar,
entertainment and a priceless view.
Would we recommend Dew Drops?
Yes!
