The Streets
in Cuernavaca, Mexico
Billy and Akaisha Kaderli
Cuernavaca is a city known for its temperate climate. Dignitaries from
around the world have built vacation homes here for just this reason, and
residents of the Capitol,
Mexico City
come here for daytrips and quick getaways.
We had just spent some time
in Puebla,
Mexico, and decided to take
a quick trip
to Cuernavaca while we were in the area.
One thing we noticed right
away, is that the side streets of this city were colorful, quaint and sometimes
quirky.

Tiled fountain and wrought iron balconies
The side streets in Cuernavaca were
well-tended. Here you see a drained fountain with
Talavara
tiles.
Wrought iron balconies decorate flat-fronted
buildings, and beautiful archways complete the Colonial look.

Young woman standing in the doorway
This beautiful young lady was having her
photo taken by a friend. The various backgrounds made each photo captivating.
This sky blue building with the greenery
surrounding it gave a soft, romantic feel.

Restaurants and bars line this tiny
callejon
With its attractive painted buildings,
beautiful plants and cobblestone walkways, this alley was enchanting.
In this distinct way,
Cuernavaca seemed more artistic in representation than
Puebla streets
did.

Beautiful greenery draping down from the
rooftop plants
This azure blue painted building is stunning
with the vines cascading down from the rooftop.
Look closely and you will see the same woman
mentioned previously, having her photo taken again by her friend.

Mural of Green Blob on a deep purple
building
In general, murals are very commonplace in
Mexico. They add drama and dimension to the ordinary.
Another characteristic about Mexico, is that
they are not afraid of using color. This deep purple building is
attention-getting.

Another distinctive mural on the side of a
building
This mural is done by the same artist as the
one in the previous photo. He is quite talented, and his work adds to the
distinctive character of the city.
