Billy and I took a walk around our adopted home town of
Chapala,
Mexico on Christmas Eve. What a beautiful display of lights!
The streets were fairly empty this night,
and many restaurants were closed, leaving the decorative lights to take
center stage without competition.
Take a look.

The kiosk at the Chapala Center Plaza
This is the kiosk in Chapala Centro. The
Plaza Centro is a busy place with lots of the town's seasonal activities
going on here. There are concerts, mobile art shops, dancing lessons on the
weekends, and more.
Tonight the kiosk is lit up with blinking
lights outlining the full structure.
Festive!

Hanging lantern lights in front of the
government building
Walking down a short distance towards the
lake, is the government building. Here were some beautiful orange and golden
hanging lantern lights that were eye-catching.
From this location, the lake is about 50
yards away.

Chapala's Church
In the center of the photo is
Chapala's Church. A tall tree is lit up as a Christmas tree, and there are
the three wise men and a creche.

A closer look at the creche
Here is a structure imitating the stable
where the Bible says Christ was born. And of course there is the donkey and
lamb (keeping time as in the song, Drummer Boy) and Joseph and Mary. Baby
Jesus has not yet arrived in the manger, as it is only Christmas Eve.

Live tree in front of the Chapala
Church
A very high live tree in front of the
Chapala Church was decorated as a Christmas tree. How did that star get UP
there?
We're telling you, this is a very TALL
tree! A fireman's ladder? A helicopter?

Akaisha in front of wrapped packages
This gives you a little bit of a closer
look at the Christmas tree trunk and the wrapped packages underneath it.
Chapala's Church is right over my
shoulder.
Merry Christmas Everyone!
