Exploring
Tapachula,
Mexico was easy and fun! A clean town, residents were friendly, and open to sharing
what their city had to offer.
Here, we stumbled upon a Mexican favorite
- ICE CREAM!
Tepoz Nieves
Set in an open air surrounding and
located down by the town fountain, Tepoz
Nieves offers a variety of ice creams, many of them made from local fruit.
One you make your purchase you can sit in the outdoor area to the right and
people watch.

Where else can you get the Snow of the
Gods? Flavors such as Moon Lullaby, Angel Kiss, Queen of the Night and
Prayer of Love are only a few of the choices offered in the first left-hand
column.
You can get traditional flavors such as
strawberry, mint, nut, coconut, chocolate and cappuccino in the middle
column.
The right hand column lists favorites of
Mexico and Central America -- ice creams with spicy chilis! These are
amazingly delicious, as the cold of the ice cream and the spiciness of the
chili mix together on your tongue, making you go back for the next bite!
You can also purchase ices, or fruit
sorbets. The bottom list are flavors "from the orchard" - avocado ice cream,
garlic, beet, lettuce, nopales (cactus) and carrot.
What could possibly be missing?
One deliriously happy place
Mexicans are a festive culture. Bright,
happy colors are common, and seriously, we love that tropical touch.
Wouldn't you love to have that table and
the sun wall hanging down by your pool area? Or in your breakfast nook and
start the day sitting on a watermelon seat, ecstatic with the colors of
orange and yellow?
Or maybe just have a
cup of coffee
instead.

What a handsome young man! This guy was
so friendly, and he could see that we were a bit overwhelmed by the choices
available. We didn't know where to start.
Billy could eat ice cream every day, no
problem, but for me it's a treat. There was NO way I could get all the
flavors in on one visit - should I try Angel Kiss? or one of the spicy
styles which we really like... or just go traditional?
Nothing beats a really good double
chocolate, which is what he's scooping out here for me... and I upped my
order from small to medium mid-scoop, which is why he's smiling so broad
here, I think. We're hooked!
I'll have to return another day to try
Prayer of Love or French Vanilla...
