Travel Information
Lake
Atitlan Travel and Info
Antigua, Guatemala
has a watering hole sort of like the one on the TV show Cheers. You know, the
place where everyone knows your name?
It's called The Snug Bar.
Outside sign of The Snug
The Snug is an authentic
Irish bar owned by an Irishman. Located at 6th Street between 5th and 6th
Avenues it's in a tiny closet of a space with an Irish clover hanging outside.
You'll never fail to have a
good time here. There's a wonderful mix of expats, Guatemalan locals and
tourists in a friendly atmosphere.
Cozy, friendly
atmosphere
With less than 20 seats, a
bar and two tables, this gathering place is great for conversation. You can
always meet someone new and interesting, whether you are keen on an intimate
conversation with a Guatemalan local or a raucous time with some Aussies.
Friendly bar tender
All of the bar tenders make
an effort to learn your name and to give attentive service. This vivacious woman
spoke excellent English and lived in Spain for several years.
The Snug is an
unpretentious, easy-going gathering spot worth visiting.
They serve various local
and imported beers along with a selection of distilled alcohols.

Cobblestone streets in
Antigua are the norm and make for a creative atmosphere in the whole city.
Here you see the sign for
Snug's hours - 7 days a week, Noon to 10pm.
Gotta have one of these
The Bull Shit Corner could
describe the whole of Snug since it is so tiny. Why limit story telling to just
one corner?
Next time you are in
Antigua, make it a point to stop by The Snug.
Welcoming and friendly,
you're sure to have a great time.
All of our books lead
to adventure. Don't miss out on yours!
