Retire Early Lifestyle
Retirement; like your parents, but way cooler

On the Beach, St.Maarten

This last year was an illuminating one for us, and I think we met our challenges excellently.

There was the exciting and much-needed repair and clutter-clearing of our residence in Arizona. Mind-blowing Japan was added to our 3 month itinerary in Asia, and that country opened a new door for us. We are looking forward to returning next year!

Receiving the diagnosis of breast cancer in June while in Thailand, I found myself having a mastectomy in Guadalajara, Mexico two months later. Radiation treatments followed and we were able to return to the Caribbean Islands in October for two months where we received essential R&R after a pressing, stressful and hectic medical schedule.

It was one of those years, where there was a “Y” in the road... and we took it.

Our lives are forever changed and all is good.

In a word?

I'd say Transformation.

We had a crash course in breast cancer diagnosis, surgery and treatment options. And we prayed a lot! We hope to share more details with you in our future Newsletters.

Meanwhile our financial portfolios continue to perform well, outpacing inflation and spending as we enter our 35th year of Financial Independence.

We thank all of you for your kind letters of support, and for this Holiday and Christmas Season, we wish you love, clarity of mind and a warm heart.

From our hearts to yours,

Billy and Akaisha
