Billy and I are foodies.
One of our goals in visiting
Puebla, Mexico,
was to go to
rooftop
bars and restaurants, enjoy their view and
taste their offerings.
Many
rooftop bars and restaurants have unique, avant-garde cuisine and an
excellent view.
The view from Attico 303
Located on the top floor of the Hotel Casa Rosa,
Attico 303 claims the best view of the Puebla Cathedral. Actually, this is
the Convent Church of Santo Domingo de Guzmán, as the Cathedral is located
elsewhere in town and has a black stone exterior.
But... that's a minor detail!
Serving a fusion of the exquisite cuisine of
Puebla and international
choices, plan to take your time to dine.
Lower level of Attico 303
Attico offers 2 floors for viewing and
dining.
We liked the look of the upper floor, so
in a nano-second, we made our choice to go up one more level.
Stunning view of the Convent Church of
Santo Domingo de Guzmán from Attico 303
The view really is breath-taking, isn't
it?
As you look down in front of the church,
remember that in 1862, there was a huge battle here called The Battle of Puebla.
The French tried to establish themselves, and the local Mexicans would have
none of it.
At this point, we wanted to order some
food and drinks, ... but they didn't have paper menus. If we wanted to see a
menu, we had to take a photo of a bar code and see it online.
This was the first time we had ever used
the QR menu option, and we failed miserably at it. Not only that, but the
sun was setting, and we could barely read the menu when we finally got it up
on one of the waitress' tablet.
But we persevered!
Salmon tiradito
Like sashimi, this salmon tiradito is served with rosemary, lemon, red onion, cucumber slices and
three chili oil.
It was remarkable.
Fettuccini frutti de mare
This also was very delicious, with
fettuccini pasta in tomato sauce, mussels, shrimp and squid.
Yours truly!
Stopping for a moment to take a photo.
It was unexpectedly chilly that first
evening when we arrived in
Puebla.
The wind was blowing and it was cold!
Our bill
We were here with some friends, so not
everything on this menu is ours.
As you can see, the salmon currently is
about $7USD. A glass of Cabernet is about $8USD, and our Fettuccini was
under $10USD.
We would recommend this place for a
special meal with a loved one, or to have a couple of drinks and some
appetizers.
