The Lost City of the Incas

I have always wanted to go to Machu Picchu. It has been on my list for decades.

After visiting all the Maya ruin sites that we have seen in the last several years, I am ready for one of the Machu Picchu that are offered by Peru travel tours. Yeah, I know, Billy and I aren’t really “tour people,” but there have been several times in our travels where the ease and organization of a tour makes things simple and efficient. Seeing Machu Picchu or taking one of the Amazon rainforest tours would fit this bill exactly.

Billy and I have been independent travelers all our lives. But there is something to be said for having a seamless, hassle-free travel experience where you don’t have to worry about airport pickup, finding a hotel, getting transport to the intended historical location or even having to worry about where you will obtain your meals. Sometimes, if you only have a certain amount of days off from work, doing a tour fits in with your time schedule. There is no stress, no worry about trying to put it all together yourself.

I have been reading Charles Mann’s books 1491 and 1493 and with all that I have learned about the amazing peoples of the Americas, I would love to visit “The Lost City of the Incas” for myself.

How about you?
