We like to keep up-to-date with our Readers as to what
our current spending is and as of the end of 2016, our average
spending for 26 years of financial independence or 9490 days, is
$22,278 annually or $61.04 per day. This is an increase of .47 cents per day over 2015 spending figures.
At the same
time our net worth has continued to climb outpacing inflation
after spending. With over a quarter of a century of experience, I think we are getting the hang of this
lifestyle and financial freedom.
speaking, we have been living in cost beneficial countries such as
Thailand, thus positively affecting our numbers. The
Peso-to-Dollar exchange right
now is a great deal, making
Mexico seemingly on sale. But the year before we also
Dominican Republic, and stayed in
Naples, Florida for 5 months to share with family and
self-insure for health care, taking advantage of
medical services in the countries where we stay. And when we
go to the States we take out a Traveler's Health Insurance
Nomads to cover our time there. A couple of years ago at age 62, we decided to
begin taking our
Social Security. Billy has made some adjustments to our
portfolio using ETFs which allows him to buy and sell in
real time, and take advantage of market downturns, as well as
House sitting from time to time has helped with housing costs.
We continue to eat
well, live and travel comfortably and make visits to the States
family. It's a GREAT life.
